Bonsai MCP Connector for Claude

Ask Claude about your Bonsai data. The Bonsai MCP connector lets Claude read the same Amazon KPIs and tables you already see in Bonsai — after OAuth, with no database password and no free choice of tenant.

What it is

Bonsai is the analytics workspace for Amazon brands and agencies. This connector links Claude to your Bonsai account. Claude reads dashboards and tables already in your workspace: Vendor, Advertising, Rank & Price, Seller, FBA, Feedback, and catalog health. It is not a third-party Amazon SP-API wrapper. Claude does not call Amazon on your behalf.

Everyone connects to the same URL (https://<HOST_MCP>/mcp). Who you are is decided at login.

What you can ask

Available if the matching Bonsai modules are enabled and data is already in the workspace:

  1. Platform — connector status, who you are, allowed tenants, active tenant (agencies).
  2. Amazon Vendor Standard — sales, traffic, inventory, forecast, geo, sourcing excluded.
  3. Amazon Vendor Advanced — strategic sales, Net PPM, catalog health, TCA, returns, vendor coverage.
  4. Amazon Ads — campaigns, ad groups, product ads, products, keywords, search terms, category benchmarks, conversion path, Brand Store.
  5. Rank & Price — Buy Box, prices, rank.
  6. Seller — sales report, account performance.
  7. Brand Analytics — search terms.
  8. Listing Catalog Health.
  9. Feedback.
  10. FBA — replenishment, fees and estimates.

Before you connect

You need:

  • an active Bonsai account;
  • a company workspace with the Amazon/analytics modules you want to query already enabled;
  • data already in Bonsai for the dates you will ask about (the connector does not pull Amazon live);
  • if you work at an agency: Bonsai Agency access and clients on your allowlist.

You only see in Claude what your Bonsai user can already see in the workspace.

How to connect

From the Claude Connectors Directory

  1. In Claude open Customize → Connectors (or the Connectors Directory).
  2. Find Bonsai and connect.
  3. Complete OAuth.
  4. Choose I am a company or I am an agency.
  5. Sign in to Bonsai.

As a custom connector

  1. Claude → Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Paste: https://<HOST_MCP>/mcp
  3. Connect and finish OAuth as above.

One URL for every user. There is no per-customer server address.

Company vs agency login

I am a company

You use a single Bonsai workspace. Enter the company code if asked, then sign in with your Bonsai email and password. Claude queries only that company.

I am an agency

Sign in to Bonsai Agency. You only see clients your organisation is allowed to access. Set the active client before asking for KPIs (e.g. "List my tenants and set CLIENT_CODE"). Analytics tools use that client. Claude cannot target a company outside the allowlist.

How to ask

  • Dates as YYYY-MM-DD (e.g. 2026-07-01).
  • Ask for a KPI summary first, then product/SKU rows if you need the table.
  • For Net PPM, Vendor Advanced Catalog Health, and TCA, ask for daily (DAY) granularity, not MONTH.
  • If a module is off or data is missing, you get an actionable error, not a database dump.

What it does not do

  • It does not access the database or ask for a database password.
  • It does not let Claude pick the workspace URL or an arbitrary tenant.
  • It does not write Vendor, Ads, or Seller data, and it does not bulk-export.
  • It does not include Amazon Realtime.
  • It is not a Claude plugin and not an MCP App with its own UI: it is a remote MCP server.
  • It does not replace the Bonsai workspace; it queries what is already there.

Privacy and security

The connector runs only after your OAuth consent. We log tool invocations (which tool, which company, which filters, outcome) for audit and security, without passwords or tokens in logs. We do not collect the Claude chat.

If connection fails: confirm HTTPS, completed OAuth, and URLhttps://<HOST_MCP>/mcp. If tools return empty or a module error, check in Bonsai that modules are enabled and that data exists for the dates you asked.
